The Macally IceCam2, USB 2.0 webcam with built-in microphone, is truly plug and play. As a Windows PC compatible webcam, it does't require any additional software and is inmediately recognized by your computer. The Macally IceCam2 has an adjustable focus lens with a resolution of 640 x 480 VGA for high quality video and a microphone for video calls in applications such as iChat and Skype. The Macally IceCam2 works with Yahoo! Messenger, aMSN (Mac only) and Live Messenger (Windows only) as well. System requirements: USB port; Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later; Microsoft Windows XP SP2 / Vista.

Customer Rating: Summary: pic not real clear, but its neat to see person Comment: pic is not real clear -somewhat blurry, but its great to be able to "visit" with someone you dont see very often
Customer Rating: Summary: Quick and easy Comment: This webcam took about 2 minutes to set up. It was inexpensive but works for us. You really have to play around with the light in order to have the other person see you. It works much better in natural light. Works for us.
Customer Rating: Summary: I really wanted this to work Comment: I tried this webcam on 2 Macs, and it just isn't very good. First of all, it requires a lot of light. For darker rooms, you need to use iGlasses to control the gain, and then you get cold and grainy video if you are lucky. The iSight in my MacBook Pro provided perfectly good images in the same room.
I really want there to be an inexpensive webcam for Macs. I haven't found it yet. I returned my IceCam 2, and I recommend you not even waste your time with it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good price, BAD picture quality Comment: The price of this camera is great, and the connectivity as well....BUT....the picture quality is awful. It is very dark and you can only use if if you have a BRIGHT light blaring in your face. No settings are available. I don't know if it's because I use a Mac, but I would imagine it's the same for PC users. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Spend more money on a higher quality cam, it's probably worth it. Save your money on this one. I would return it, but it's too much of a pain.

Customer Rating: Summary: Crappy Camera, great compatibility Comment: I purchased this camera for my Hackintosh running Leopard 10.5.5 because my Quickcam IM wont work with it even with the maccam driver.
Im used to Logitech Quality, even their cheapest cameras perform extremely good.
This camera has the advantage of being driverless and very compatible. However that also means it lacks any control of brightness, color, contrast , etc.
The picture is not only grainy, but I believe there are several deadpixels on the sensor, so you see some white speckles on the video.
The camera is very very dark, not even close in video quality to an iSight or Logitech camera.
I tried using iGlasses wich allows to control parameters on the cam (It is a paid program) and managed to get a slightly better picture, but still with dead pixels.
I would recommend avoiding this camera for Macs and instead going for the Xbox 360 Live Webcam wich is also UVC (driverless) and works with Macs and Hackintoshes.
